I wrote this song for my son, Franklin. He loves musical instruments of all kinds; guitars, piano/keyboards, drums (especially drums!), ukulele, harmonica, kalimba… he hasn’t met a musical instrument he didn’t like. So I took some of his earliest musical instrument toys that he would play with regularly and I incorporated them into the production of this song. If you listen carefully, you can hear his home made maraca that his mom made for him. You can hear a little jingly elephant ear with a bell in it (that I used as a little tambourine). And you can hear a Baby Einstein piano. The Baby Einstein piano was my favorite challenge because his toy was only in one major key and it was somewhere between G# and A. The song that I wrote for him was in Bb/F. I took his toy piano and recorded each note with a microphone, pitch corrected it to be in the key of the song, and assigned each note to a key on my keyboard and played his toy piano by using my keyboard.
I hope you enjoy Franklin’s song. Please give it a listen and a share if you like it!
